MARKETING MANAGER ASIA & MAJOR MARKETS

(Position based in Paris 75016)

Objectives and responsibilities
  • Based in : PARIS / France - PARIS REGION
  • Contract : 11/2021 - permanent

Reporting to the International Sales Director, you are the interface between the Sales team and all accounts in the region and other key international markets (Russia and the UK in particular) for all brand/marketing/social media issues, and with internal stakeholders such as global marketing teams or training on relevant issues. You responsibilities cover:

Operational marketing

- Partner with the global marketing team to ensure the marketing plan, key information/guidelines are cascaded to the local customers.
- Establish tactical and strategic communication with key accounts to ensure brand programmes and strategies are understood/followed.
- Be the voice of the markets internally, make sure regional/local needs are identified/challenged/communicated.
- Tracking of launches/post-mortem via qualitative and quantitative reports to measure performance, and suggest with Sales team corrective actions.
- Challenge distributors to make sure local marketing mechanisms, activation programmes and creative/visual initiatives are in line with global brand image standards.
- Regular competitive analysis (new brands, new launches, best practices).
- Preparation of retailer presentations.

Asia e-commerce & Social media

- Tracking of e-commerce sites (assortments, competition etc.) and social media platforms (new trends, key events, top shopping festivals etc.)
- Regular competitive analysis (new brands, new launches, best practices).
- Weekly newsletter/study of key events in Asia/China beauty online/offline world, and other useful broader info to understand the markets.

Travel Retail

- Be the key point of contact for all marketing/brand image issues, incl. new launches/assortment/visual merchandising/advertising/activation.
- Coordinate new doors openings with sales and global marketing teams .

Analysis

- Weekly and monthly Sales reports/ analysis.
- Forecast of newness/basic/promotion as needed, in relation with Sales team.
- Ad hoc analysis as needed by Sales team.

Training

- Liaise with Training manger to ensure all training materials are cascaded to key accounts and help organise regular training sessions as needed.
- Identify gaps/training opportunities.
- Perform training directly occasionally, to facilitate training/recruitment of beauty advisors for some accounts (e.g. Travel Retail operators), lead cabin crew virtual road shows.

Your profile

- You have a minimum of 5 years experience in a marketing position dealing with the Greater China market and ideally in the perfumes & cosmetics industry.
- You are highly organised with great attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize competing tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ability to grow and learn within a small team environment.
- You are sensitive to high quality and premium / luxury brands & products.
- You speak fluently English.
- Mandarin speaking is a big plus.
