Vice President of Retail and Merchandising APAC (based in Hong Kong)

Our client is one of the world's leading international fashion brands. The company designs, manufactures, distributes and retails luxury products (haute couture, prêt-à-porter, jewellery, perfumes,…)
Today, our client is looking for a high-caliber candidate for the newly created role: Vice President of Retail and Merchandising APAC, to manage and drive the expansion of its brand in Asia.

Votre Mission

Directly reporting to the President of APAC, you will be responsible to define, recommend and implement the Merchandising and Retail strategies for APAC markets in order to achieve the company targets. You are managing, coaching and leading the following teams: Retail Operations, CRM, Merchandising, Retail Excellence and Visual Merchandising.

Your main responsibilities will be:

1) Retail:
• Responsible for the P&L of the retail stores
• Drive the growth and profitability of the directly operated stores through positive sales performances, a close monitoring of retail operations expenses, and innovative ways to increase their profitability
• Consolidate and expand the retail business
• Lead Retail team to maximize sales and sell out of the stores
• Ensure sales staff adhere to Company rules and procedures
• Implement and enforce corporate Visual Merchandising and Retail guidelines to ensure the consistency and uniformity of the brand identity in the stores
• Develop CRM activities to enlarge the customer base, increase the VIP and Prospect & Potential clients’ database, grow customer engagement and improve customer experience

2) Merchandising
• Responsible for planning product assortment, stock control and pricing strategies for APAC markets
• Lead the Buying team on the full spectrum of activities
• Support the team, during the buying sessions, on qualitative and quantitative choices according to the corporate guidelines, the past history and the business reports (trends, new products, customers’ habits, marketing activities, pricing, margins…)
• Monitor the OTB plan to maximize sell-through, meet customers’ needs, minimize the left-over in stores while supporting the Company strategic growth
• Provide regular product training on new collections and market trends to sales teams

3) Business Intelligence
• Carry-out regular market research and competitors’ analysis (trends, pricing, new products, in-store activities…)
• Collect market and consumer trend information to develop future buying plans

4) Management
• Manage, mentor and develop a team of 2 direct reports covering Retail and Merchandising
• Manage the relationship with different regional functions/HQ for all Retail, Merchandising & CRM related issues

Votre Profil

• Minimum 20 years of relevant experience in Commercial and Merchandising functions, including 10 years at a senior managerial level in Retail
• Solid experience in International luxury fashion and accessories brands, with a strong regional exposure
• Knowledge of customer trends, luxury market trends and developments in the Region
• Strong leadership and management skills, able to drive high performance team
• Strong acumen for figures, solid analytical skills as well strategic mindset
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Problem-solving and able to work under pressure
• Highly self-motivated, detail-minded and entrepreneurial attitude
• Fluent in English. Mandarin is a plus
• Willing to travel 30-40% of your time
