Panier des Sens has decided to boost and strengthen its Asia presence by hiring a high caliber candidate for their newly created role of Regional Commercial Director Asia, to be based in Hong Kong.

Objectives and responsibilities
  • Based in : Hong Kong / Hong Kong
  • Contract : 05/2019 - permanent

Reporting directly to the founder and CEO (based in France), you are the first key pillar for the establishment of Panier des Sens commercial Asia platform. You are responsible for driving sales while building the brand equity (market share, awareness, positioning):
• Partner with distributors and develop the domestic channel in Asia markets (including Hong Kong, China, Korea, Taiwan, Japan, SEA, Australia)
• Open and grow the travel retail channel with key duty-free operators and airlines
• Open and grow direct retail channel in the region, with a first store in Hong Kong

In charge of the Asia P&L, you will manage:
• Sales:
- Manage, develop existing accounts/distributors relationship as well as expand and recommend new business opportunities according to the brand strategy
- Prepare and execute the expansion plan across the region
- Drive the business model transformation from a sell-in to a sell-out model to optimize branding, improve space, position of the brand, etc.

• Marketing:
- Work closely with HQ teams and local distributors marketing teams to ensure timely implementation of marketing programs and ensure correct product mix and assortment are available for each market
- Conduct needed market & competition intelligence studies

• Finance:
- Work together and challenge distributors on sales and A&P budgets
- Work with the CEO and CFO on annual/quarterly sales and contribution reviews
- Provide regular and ad hoc reporting on regional activities

• Education: ensure local trainers and Beauty Advisors are kept up to date on product knowledge

• Logistics:
- Negotiate product selection and ensure correct product mix and full assortments to keep stock level healthy for all accounts
- Work closely with HQ supply chain teams on forecasts
- Advise on suspected diversion of products

Your profile

• Minimum of 10 years' experience in business development, sales management, brand management related functions with solid knowledge in either or both wholesale and / or travel retail channels
• 4 years in a senior sales leadership role in international companies specialized in selective distribution of premium or niche goods (preferably in cosmetics and beauty). Experience with other categories such as fashion accessories will also be considered
• Relevant and solid regional Asia experience with updated knowledge of distribution channels
• True entrepreneurial spirit combined with high a solid strategic mindset and natural hands on approach, driven by the ambition to grow a sizable business in Asia over the coming years
• Autonomous and thrive working with remote management
• Sell-out business thinking
• Solid communication and presentation skills to drive and influence multi-party relationships (distributors, key accounts, retailers)
• Fluent in English. French and/or Mandarin is a strong plus
• Able to travel 50%
