Lagardere Services Asia Pacific currently has operations in Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan and China.
Aelia operates Duty Free retail and is present in over 25 airports in Europe, Hong Kong and Sydney. With 161 sales outlets, Aelia is one of the leaders in the Travel Retail sector, operating in Duty Free environments (perfumes & cosmetics, alcohols & tobacco, gourmet foods, multimedia, fashion & accessories).
Our group has recently been appointed to operate 2 Luxury fashion & Accessories Concessions in Singapore ( 800m2 ) and Sydney (250 m2) airports.
We are searching for an experienced Regional Buyer - Luxury Fashion and Accessories (Based in Singapore's office) responsible for leading and driving the buying performance for both Luxury Fashion & Accessories concessions.

:.. Objectives and responsibilities:
|
Part of a small team (located in Singapore's office), you directly report to the General Manager – Luxury Fashion, with a functional working relationship with Aelia’s Fashion Lead Buyer as well as management in the Asia Pacific region, you are ultimately responsible for:
•Leading the development of seasonal ranges through selection and negotiations with brands.
•Ensuring that deadlines are met when bringing selected products to the markets.
•Developing and implementing approved budgets that meet or exceed both sales and gross margin targets.
•Optimizing sales and developing store turnover whilst maintaining brand integrity.
Merchandising & Buying:
•To lead and manage the activities of the buying team ensuring close liaison with other sections of the business.
•To develop and implement buying strategies in accordance with Aelia’s marketing plan for existing and new brands and product categories:
o Accessories: Bally, Ferragamo, Fendi, Tod’s, YSL, Bottega Venatta, Longchamp, Agnes B
o Ready to wear: Boss Dunhill, Zegna, Etro
o Luxury Jewellery & Watches: Cartier, Bulgari
o Costume Jewellery: Swarovski, Folli Folli, Sunglasses (6 + brands)
o Men’s Accessories: Porsche Design, Tumi
•To manage product selection and quantity for collections and negotiate purchasing terms and promotional support.
•To set selling prices in accordance to company strategy, brand positioning and landlord price guarantee policies where required
Budgeting and Sales Management:
•To monitors and optimize each collections flow, plans and communicates each collections exit strategy at the end of each season and recommends change to business plans where required to maximize profitability
•To monitor the effectiveness of buying plans with management team via regular business reviews.
•To review weekly and monthly performance reports and take necessary actions where appropriate
•To develop and ensure adequate budget expense is available to meet all buying plans and ensure the buying plans meet corporate plan requirements
•To ensure category layouts are positioned in line with business plans.
•To monitor the effectiveness of supply channels and restocking schedules in accordance to each location’s needs.
•To identify and pursue emerging product opportunities or trends in line with customer expectations both nationally and internationally.
•To regularly analyze market research (trends), shopper behaviour, geo-demographics information, market conditions and competitor information for review of current strategies and modify accordingly.
Management of internal and external parties:
•To lead a team consisting of assistant buyer, data entry and logistics staff
•To provide leadership, guidance, coaching, development and direction to the buying team
•To ensure that the Buying team are kept up to date with all of the category and corporate goals
•To define and communicate merchandising rules and product schedules to the operations team as set and in accordance with company and brand rules & schedules –
•To ensure shopper focus, service orientation and operational excellence are implemented in the development of all buying & merchandising plans.
•To work cross functionally between, Operations, Marketing, Business Development and Finance
•To communicate and exchange ‘best practice’ and expertise across Asia Pacific and European networks.
•To ensure business plans are communicated to relevant team personnel, suppliers and companywide.
•To manage relationships and contracts with suppliers, develop new suppliers and supply chains in accordance with business strategy defined by Aelia Fashion Lead Buyer.
•To monitor the effectiveness of relationship’s and business plans with suppliers via regular business reviews

:.. Required qualifications:
|
-You have a minimum of 8 years of experience in buying, merchandising for Fashion / Fashion Accesories (high end and luxury goods) for large Asian multi-site travel retail or retail organizations.
-You have at least 3 years experience at managerial level
-You have experience in business plan, proposal and budget preparation.
Candidates with Wholesale Management, Key Account management experience for multiple luxury brands would also be considered. You have a strong acumen for fashion and fashion accessories industry.
-You have solid negotiation/ listening & organization skills
-You have strong analytical skills, ability to identify commercial opportunities and consumer market trends
-You are fluent in English, (Mandarin and French would be a plus)
